Smartraveller - Know Before You Go

‘Know Before You Go’ is a series of social media animations created for the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s flagship consular brand, Smartraveller. They encourage Australians to visit Smartraveller as their first destination when preparing for overseas travel.
The series features snappy 2D animations highlighting a range of consular scenarios that travellers may face, each with unfortunate outcomes. These outcomes could be avoided if the characters had referenced the information available from Smartraveller.gov.au.
This includes respecting local laws, cyber scams, having travel insurance and destination visas in place.
Delivered through colourful characters representing different traveller personas, amusing touchpoints and engaging narratives, the bold design grabs and retains the audience’s attention from the get-go – an important element in today’s social media scrolling environment.
