Multiverse Immersion Theatre - YUAN

With the emphasis on intangible cultural heritage, the protection of Beijing's old city has been effectively strengthened, and the unique experience of the night tour along the central axis has infused it with vitality. Therefore, based on Beijing's culture and history, we created a non-traditional theatre narrative that includes digital restoration and future landscaping to create a digital paradise in the old Beijing city.
Out of YUAN, one is born. Out of one, two. Out of two, three. Out of Three, the created universe. Based on the traditional architectural landscape of the Temple, we adapted stories from ancient Chinese scripts, the traditional narrative structure is broken by light and shadow art. Through the theme of Yuan, the exhibition will lead the audience to explore the whole spectrum and embark on a holographic experience of body, mind and soul.
This combination of light and shadow art with digital technology also better supports the main storyline of birth, transformation, nirvana, rebirth, expressed by Yuan. The creation of the Multiverse Immersion Theatre breaks the performance form of the frame theatre and is also different from the linear narrative show form. It allows the audience to be more free and comfortable.
In order to distinguish the dancer, each member of the audience is marked with a lantern after entering. By analyzing the topography and architectural characteristics, we set up the stages on the jade plate outside the wall, the corner of the atrium building and the pool screen wall. By using the natural architectural appearance, we use 3D Mapping to outline the night of Zhizhu Temple. At the same time, different indoor digital sound fields are constructed in the main hall, art gallery, and digital meditation room. Digital vision is then integrated with singing bowls and dance performances to build a YUAN story through the dialogue between behaviour and body.
This non-traditional immersive performance has been performed in Beijing more than ten times so far, with an online exposure of over 100 million. From 2022 to 2023, we've led the innovation and integration market of night tour economy in Beijing. And together with thousands of audiences, we created Chinese cultural memories and went on a romantic date with Eastern aesthetics.
