One of Us
weacceptyou.com
Hamnet showcases how seamless visual effects and subtle augmentation can transport audiences to another era through careful, considered craft. One of Us began with historical reconstructions of Elizabethan London and the Globe Theatre, starting from practical set builds and tower scaffolds and expanding through digital environments, DMP, and CG architecture.
Rather than replacing what could be shot practically, the One of Us VFX team enhanced and extended live-action elements, integrating lidar scans of sets, using physical stand-ins for crowd tiers, and blending real extras with careful duplication and performance mapping to fill the Globe's finale. Even atmospheric sequences including storms, floods, and swarms of bees evolved from a hybrid approach: combining in-camera elements, audio cues, and CG augmentation to preserve naturalism. Across over 200 shots, the result is a world that feels tactile, lived-in, and emotionally grounded.
