We hope you will enjoy this show of the best in Animation and VFX from around the world. We’ve received lots of breakdown and behind-the-scenes work to help with judging, and we are pleased to be able to share most this in the videos here. Enjoy the reels – and celebrate with the winners.

The past year has continued to bring rapid change to this industry. Artists are adapting fast to pressure to output more work, with fewer resources. Virtual production processes, real-time techniques and the use of AI models to save time and automate tasks have all been solidifying in studio pipelines. A number of the entered projects have been made using these methods and, in effect, have pushed them forward.

At the same time the demand for exciting, beautiful, emotive work on screens of all kinds is also growing. But techniques, or even artificial intelligence, can’t make an impact on audiences without creativity, artistry and great stories. It’s the combination of all these things that makes the magic and is what we are celebrating at AEAF.

Feature Film Categories
The Feature Film, Feature Film Sequence and TV Series categories this year are inspiration for the whole industry. Digital humans, 3D worlds, science fiction and fantasy all meet here to make stories and characters come to life for audiences. The VFX and animation teams who work with today’s filmmakers are not only skilled and working to very high standards, but are also extremely creative, visualising stories in ways that make productions stand out.
