VANDAL
Westpac Layers of Defence brought the brand’s security message into the world of State of Origin, using rugby league defence as a clear metaphor for protection. Set at Accor Stadium and featuring NRL legends including Cameron Smith and Johnathan Thurston, the commercial framed Westpac’s defence systems as layered, disciplined and ready under pressure. For the VFX component, VANDAL supported the campaign’s high-energy visual approach, combining live action, controlled camera movement and seamless digital enhancement to build a heightened stadium environment. The work helped visualise each layer of defence with clarity and impact, while maintaining the grit and intensity of an elite training drill. The result was a sharp, sport-led commercial that used VFX to translate an abstract banking security message into a memorable, physical idea: when the pressure is on, defence matters.
