Vivid Sydney 2024 - Harbour Bridge Pylons 'Face of Change'

Standing tall over Sydney Harbour for Vivid 2024, Spinifex Group transformed the Sydney Harbour Bridge Pylons with the modern and unique artistry of Indigenous artist Tori-Jay Mordey.
The work explores humanity’s deep connection to nature, through the prescient story of the Torres Strait 8 (TS8). This group of climate change warriors from the Torres Strait Islands face the imminent threat of becoming some of the world’s first climate refugees due to rising sea levels. Each member of the TS8 is represented in Tori-Jay's surreal hand alongside their spiritual animal totem as the sea starts to rise and threatens their way of life.
Faces of Change is a reminder of our connection to nature and the urgent imperative to protect it. Told on the bridge that connects Sydney this is an inspiring call to protect our shared world.
