Artists in Motion

Dream Circus is a 360-degree visual and audio experience created and produced by Artists in Motion and located in Luna Park Sydney’s 3,000 sq. m. Big Top.

Throughout the 50-minute show, a virtual cast comprising 35 principal, ensemble and background extras keep live audiences entertained in a fully automated immersive narrative that plays up to nine times a day, seven days a week with just the press of a button – but gives the feeling of a “live” performance!

To capture the feeling of a “live” performance, Artists in Motion casted and choreographed some of Australia’s best musical theatre, acting, dance, and clowning talent, then filmed live action scenes during a 2-week green screen shoot. At the completion of the shoot, the team had 8.46 TB of data, equalling 40 hours of footage to sort through and assemble!

The characters from the shoot were then woven into studio-created fantastical worlds and visually stunning moments by AIM’s studio artists.

The result? A 360-degree visual and audio experience that follows the story of seven main characters on a journey full of rollercoasters, a flying circus, underwater ballet, a psychedelic light show, and terrifying magical moments – all invoking the wondrous atmosphere of the amusement park that hosts Dream Circus!
