Badu Gili: Healing Spirit is an animated projection celebrating First Nations art and storytelling, illuminating the Sydney Opera House’s Eastern Bennelong sails.The animation weaves together the intricate shellwork and prints of late Bidjigal Elder Esme Timbery and her children Marilyn Russell and Steven Russell, alongside the vibrant drawings of Joseca Mokahesi Yanomami of the Yanomami people in the Amazon. With a mix of 2D and 3D animation, It explores themes of cultural and familial connection, rituals, and the metaphysical relationships between natural and spiritual worlds.
